New Dubai tenancy rule: The housing authority has stated that inhabitants in the emirate have two weeks to register the people who live in their homes, whether owned or rented.
On Friday(23 Sep 2022), the Dubai Land Department (DLD) alerted all owners, developers, property management companies, and tenants that their co-occupants in owned and leased homes had been registered.
To finish the registration, all owners, developers, property management organizations, and tenants must undergo an eight-step process, including entering personal information using Emirates ID.
Co-occupant information will be automatically updated on the tenancy contract once registered. When all the persons residing in a house are registered, each resident can use an Ejari contract as proof of address.
Registration can be done using the Dubai REST app. It must be completed within “a maximum of two weeks with immediate effect,” according to a circular released by the DLD.
